The aim of this rapid health needs assessment is to understand the specific health needs for the asylum seeker and refugee children and young people population up to the age of 25 in East Sussex.
Refugees and Asylum seekers have specific health needs and vulnerabilities that need considering in both health care terms and the wider determinants of health. Asylum seekers and refugees have large health inequalities and the need to understand these, address them to enable positive health and wellbeing is essential.
This report analyses the current met and unmet needs of children and young people who are asylum seekers or refugees. This information will be utilised with current evidence on the most effective interventions to inform further work.
