Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) Indicator Tool

Data have been uploaded for five domains (AMR, Antibiotic Prescribing, HCAI, IPC and Antibiotic stewardship). The indicators are intended to raise awareness of antimicrobial resistance and to facilitate the development of local action plans.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR)

Antibiotic prescribing and antibiotic resistance are inextricably linked, as overuse and incorrect use of antibiotics are major drivers of resistance. As part of the response to the problem of antibiotic resistance, Public Health England (PHE), through the English Surveillance Programme for Antimicrobial Utilisation and Resistance (ESPAUR) is developing and improving surveillance systems, of which this is a part. The data published in this tool may be used to enable healthcare organisations to benchmark the data for their organisation.
